The 4th Workshop on Traditional Stonemasonry is organized by the BLOSSOMING STONES, and will take place in Lagadia – Arcadia, a major craftsman village in Pelopennese, from the 24th to the 31st of July 2022, in sequence to the three previously held, especially successful, workshops.

FESTIVITIES 2017-2019

“Festivities of the Stones” is a unique concept project, designed and developed by Blossoming Stones, a local citizen movement, based in Lagadia, Arcadia-Greece. It includes a broad array of cultural initiatives, centered upon the regeneration of local traditional stonemasonry and the preservation of local cultural heritage. Activities ran from 2017 to 2019, culminating each summer in a two weeks’ event, engaging the local community, expatriates, and friends sharing its aims and aspirations.

The Lagadia art of stone included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Inventory as a result of Blossoming Stones systematic efforts!

The National Inventory is the inscription of elements of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Greece in the form of an index. It aspires to be a valid and up-to-date picture of the intangible cultural heritage of Greece. According to Article 12 of the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, each member state of the Convention must create one or more inventories of intangible cultural heritage. The cultivation of mastic, the Tinian marble craftsmanship, the art of dry stone walling, the Psaltic art, the art of shadow play (Karagiozis), the Rebetiko songs, etc.
